Nelson Chamisa’s MDC-T has summoned 40 of its members who are running as independent candidates who include prominent members such as Bulawayo Mayor Martin Moyo and Harare West MP Jessie Majome.
In an interview with The Chronicle, MDC-T national chairman Mr Morgen Komichi said those who will fail to attend today’s meeting will accept the party’s decision in absentia. Said Komichi:
We have called all of them to Harare where we will address them. Whoever will not withdraw will know their fate tomorrow and we have invited all people that have stood as independent candidates.

How can one summon an adult who is excersing his democratic right.
Itz clear Chamisa is an emerging dictator which our nation should reject at the forth coming elections;in the US – a bastion of global democracy, members of n political party can cross floors to support a position of the opposing party or group ,if only their gut feelings or perceptions go with the idea of the opposing group without n backlashes fr their own parties-in usa itz only a matter of choice to b partisan,u can support n view of yr choice without n repercussions.Now Chamisa appears the new Mugabe with oppressive tendencies.Chamisa is at war with the new dispensation of ED where the sitting gvt of a day can b openly criticized in the national broadcaster by the public & members of the opposition
You don’t cross floors when you still insist you are a bonafide member of MDC. It’s either you renounce your membership or you contest on MDC ticket. These independents want to compete on grey ground, they want to benefit from any political change that happens on the 1st of August. Democracy does not give one the leeway to be so politically cunning. If they are MDC then they must contest on MDC ticket. If they are independent they have to be totally independent not to want benefit votes of supporters of MDC yet they are contestingbwith some real MDC members who are not independents.
