Minister of Agriculture, Lands and Resettlement, Air Chief Marshal (retired) Perrance Shiri has warned the people who were behind the explosion which took place on Saturday that they are playing with fire. The explosion which injured at least 49 people took place after President Emmerson Mnangagwa had finished addressing a rally. Addressing a campaign rally in Uzumba, Shiri said,
Do not revenge, as the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) and the police are investigating the issue. We are not there to seek revenge. Those who are doing that think that maybe we are fools, but this is what we call playing with fire. We do not want to point fingers at each other over this. Be careful and when you see someone suspicious at a rally, just alert the police.
