Speaking to The Herald, Chief police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed that 4 people died yesterday after a Toyota Wish they were travelling collided head-on with an Eagleliner bus along the Harare-Masvingo highway.
She said the driver of the Toyota Wish lost control of his vehicle and in a bid to regain control, ended up under the bus. Said Charamba:
On a sad note, an accident has happened on the Harare-Masvingo road. A Toyota Wish went off the road and when the driver tried to bring the vehicle back into the road. The Toyota Wish is currently trapped under the bus and four people have died on the spot. The Fire Brigade came to assist in removing people who are trapped in the vehicle under the bus.
