Minister of State for Mashonaland Central Provincial Affairs Advocate Martin Dinha has been advised to withdraw his candidature for Mazowe North constituency or risk being expelled from the party and losing his job.
Speaking at a provincial coordinating committee meeting in Bindura yesterday, Politburo member and Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology principal Munyaradzi Machacha said Dinha must withdraw his candidature and allow Campion Mugweni to contest. Dinha lost to Mugweni in the primary elections. Dinha was ordered by Zanu-PF to file nomination papers at the last minute as a precautionary measure. Said Machacha:
If he (Adv Dinha) fails to withdraw tomorrow (today) he risks being expelled from the party or losing his job as Minister of State. We will also denounce him at the constituency and de-campaign him.
Mashonaland Central Provincial chairperson Kazembe Kazembe said Dinha was called after Zanu-PF discovered something was about to happen and there was danger of certain allegations about Mugweni that were about to be raised.
