Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) managing director, Noah Gwariro has said that former energy minister Samuel Undenge did nothing illegal in instructing him to enlist the services of public relations company Fruitful Communications. Gwariro said that Undenge who is facing charges of criminal abuse of office did nothing wrong. He told the Magistrate that he was only testifying against Undenge because he had been forced to do so by Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (Zacc)’s investigative head, Goodson Nguni.
Said Gwariro,
It is my testimony that I did not pick anything wrong on the conduct of the accused person and had not found any criminal conduct of the accused.
Gwariro has previously said that It’s Normal To Disregard Tender Procedures On Instructions From Minister. Undenge was charged for instructing ZPC subsidiary Zesa to use Fruitful Communications which is owned by Oscar Pambuka and Psychology Maziwisa despite the fact that Zesa has its own public relations department.
