MDC-T Masvingo Provincial Chair Resigns, Party Leadership Rejects Resignation

MDC-T Masvingo provincial chairperson James Gumbi resigned from his post.

in an interview with The Herald, Gumbi who is also MDC Alliance Zaka East Constituency candidate said his resignation had been rejected. He could however not disclose the reasons behind his resignation saying that he was in a meeting. Said Gumbi:

Yes, it’s true that I had resigned from my post as Masvingo MDC-T chair, but the national party leadership rejected my resignation. It means that I remain party chair in the province. I am in a meeting at the moment, I can’t say anything further other than that my resignation has been rejected.
