Award-winning Journalist and New York Times Foreign Correspondent Hopewell Chin’ono has advised MDC-T President Nelson Chamisa to stick to written speeches to avoid discrediting himself with hyperbole. This comes after Rwandan President Paul Kagame denied Chamisa’s claims that he had helped Rwanda craft its ICT policy.
Zimbabwe hasn’t had a brilliant political orator of Robert Mugabe’s proportions, but even Bob, the titanic speaker of note, stuck to his written scripts and speeches and would only deviate to emphasize a point which would have been well thought out already. Barack Obama was light years ahead of Mugabe in speech delivery and oratory but even he stuck to speeches read via the teleprompter. I will say this again, Nelson “Wamba” Chamisa needs to stick to written scripts and speeches because he is bleeding the middle-class vote that might not necessarily vote for Emmerson Mnangagwa, but will simply stay at home.
Many of these affluent and educated voters are finding his hyperbole statements, declarations and analogies like the latest one where he declares familiarity to President Paul Kagame of Rwanda, to be comical and embarrassing.

You are free to vote whoever you want ‘Anonymous’ all that Hopewell is saying is that the target audience yaChamisa includes the educated undecided electorate who might end up deciding the winner. It is this audience that Chamisa must understand that going on tangent and making false declarations will alienate them. Anonymous claims that he will always vote Chamisa good for him but for some of the electorate not voting for Zanu Pf does not mean voting for Chamisa.

CHAMISA SHOULD SIMPLY LEARN LESSONS AND MAKE ADJUSTMENTS ACCORDINGLY. Not everyone is impressed by your mistakes, ore important is how you respond & adjust to improve your speech delivery. You must engage more with this middle class & answer questions in a intellectual manner. rallies are ok for the energy seeking crowd & frankly speaking the lower end of electorate. If you noted the crowd responses from the UK rally…..that was a typical middle class electorate thats isnt easily excited. Do not also seek cheap soundbites & anecdotes using examples that are inaccurate
