Chamisa’s MDC-T To Establish Primary Elections Appeals Committee

MDC-T acting national chairperson, Mr Morgan Komichi said the Nelson Chamisa led party would soon be setting up an appeals committee for those with grievances concerning the primary elections.

Komichi responded to those that claimed the party was applying the concept of seniority selectively. Said Komichi:

I have more than 50 appeals across the country and very soon we shall set up an appeals committee and if there is any injustice a re-run will be ordered. People also ought to understand that seniority is in two parts, seniority in terms of rank and in terms of time spent in the party. One might be a national executive member but another person might be in the district but would have joined the party in 1999 at its inception. In that case we say let the people decide. Election template is there just to guide us as a party.

He said the party had resolved to have Elias Mudzuri in Senate and had been exempted from contesting the constituency. Mudzuri who is the seating MP for Warren Park criticised the decision to make him contest for the chance to represent the party in the forthcoming elections.
