In a statement, the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) revealed that they have sent text messages to 3 256 440 registered voters who supplied their phone numbers during registration.
ZEC also said that a total of 719 387 registrants have checked their details using the USSD code *265# during the past 4 days. Only Econet subscribers could use the USSD but ZEC said NetOne users can now use *265# to check their registration details. The election management body said they were hoping Telecel users will be able to use the service by end of day yesterday.
