NewsCafe Closes Borrowdale, Five Avenue Operations, Munyeza Says Its Only Temporary

Prominent businessman and cleric Dr Shingi Munyeza’s has closed down his contemporary cafe/bar chain NewsCafe. Speaking on the closure of the Fife Avenue and Borrowdale operations Munyeza said that the closure was temporary to allow the business to restrategise and to relocate. Said Munyeza,

There are a number of factors which led to the temporary closure of the businesses. Chief among the reasons are the foreign currency challenges.  There are also issues about rentals because the current arrangement was not working. We haven’t closed the businesses but it’s about consolidating, restrategising and refocusing.
