Former MDC MP Tafadzwa Musekiwa who become the youngest MP in 2000 at 24 years of age has endorsed the candidature of MDC-T leader Nelson Chamisa. Musekiwa who is not running for public office told, The Standard,
I think Chamisa’s takeover of the MDC is the greatest thing that has happened in the politics of this republic since the death of [Morgan] Tsvangirai. Like I told you and without the risk of being labelled a bootlicker or someone who is looking for a job, I work at the largest leasing company in the world with net revenue of over £500 million per annum in the heart of London.
Without going into much detail, it’s fair to say that I have worked with some of the greatest minds of this world and trust me when I tell you that Chamisa ranks among those. It’s one thing to admire [former president Barrack] Obama in America and forget that we also have our own right next door… The bottom line is we have an opportunity to elect our own Obama and this opportunity may not arise if we as Zimbabweans don’t grab it.

1. Age
2. Both are lawyers
3. Both are advocates of change which people truly believe in.
4. Obama pursued both fiscal and monetary policies which took the USA economy. This is what our own Obama wants to do rescue the ailing Zimbabwean economy which has been cannibalized by the military junta.
5. Both are black and have African fathers
6. Obama managed to legislate the Affordable Health Care Act( popularly known as the Obamacare). Our young man has similar dreams.
7. Both received negative media coverage.
8. Both share a vision of hope for the underprivileged.
9. Obama used fiscal policy to create employment just like our boy who wants us to have spaghetti roads, airports all over the country and bullet trains. These mammoth projects will create employment and turn around our ailing economy which was cannibalized to the born marrow.
10. Obama won the election in which he was an underdog and this is what Chamisa heading to.
11. Both the Democratic Party and our MDC have roots in the trade unions thus why ZCTU is our partner.
12. Bill-calling people names is a sign of lack of intellectual capacity. You behave like a mujibha or makororonyera. We prefer substance which gives us intellectual stimulation. I have noticed most of you ZANU people you use emotions rather than facts.
