Soldier Who Stole Mugabe’s Computers Accused Of Threatening Witnesses

The State yesterday filed an application to revoke the bail given to soldier Pepukai Zvakavapano, who is accused of stealing former President Robert Mugabe’s 210 computers and other computer accessories at Zimbabwe House. The State claims Zvakavapano threatened witnesses that are still to testify in court.

Zvakavapano’s lawyer opposed the State’s application stating that only the High Court judge who had granted him bail had the authority to revoke his bail unless he or she is unavailable. Presiding magistrate Josephine Sande then ordered both the State and defence to submit case laws relating to the issue before she could make her ruling today.
