Chiwenga’s Mother-In-Law Takes Takes General Rugeje To Court After Zanu-PF Primary Election Loss

Vice President, General (retired)  Constantino Chiwenga’s mother-in-law Helga Mubaiwa who lost in the Zanu-PF primary elections for Seke Rural constituency has approached the High Court seeking to bar the winner Munyaradzi Kashambe from campaigning pending the determination of her appeal.

Mubaiwa had appealed the outcome to the Zanu-PF election commission citing the absence of an updated voters’ register. Mubaiwa argues that the election was not fair and transparent and the result did not reflect the wishes of the voting constituency.

Mubaiwa also instructed her lawyers Mufadza and Associates Legal Practitioners to file an urgent chamber application stopping Kashambe from campaigning in the constituency on a Zanu-PF ticket pending the determination of the appeal. The application cites  Kashambe, Zanu-PF and its political commissar Lieutenant General Engelbert Rugeje (Retired) as respondents.
