Chamisa’s Appeal Against Khupe Case Judgement To Be Heard On 22 May

Nelson Chamisa’s appeal will be heard at the Supreme Court on 22 May after Chief Justice Luke Malaba granted the request to be heard on an urgent basis. Chamisa is appealing against High Court judge Justice Francis Bere’s ruling in a case where he sought to bar Thokozani Khupe from using the MDC-T name and symbols.

Chamisa wants the Supreme Court to set aside Justice Bere’s ruling and for the case to be retried under a different judge. In his Supreme Court application, Chamisa who is represented by Advocate Thabani Mpofu, argues that Justice Bere misdirected himself.
