UK Government Spending £24 Million On Zim 2018 Elections, Embassy Claims

The UK government in Zimbabwe is spending about £24 million on the elections this year to support free and fair elections, claimed their Twitter account today. The Embassy was responding to tweets by Professor Jonathan Moyo in which he said the British government,  BBC and Mnangagwa’s government were working together to support Mnangagwa’s victory in the coming elections.

Moyo had said there was growing talk that the British Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Catriona Laing, of “behaving more like #JuntaPF‘s Commissar to Britain than UK’s Ambassador to Zimbabwe.”
