Lies By Chamisa's Hardtalk Interviewer Exposed

Stephen Sackur, who interviewed Nelson Chamisa in a much talked about episode of BBC’s Hardtalk, has been exposed to have lied during the interview. Sackur apparently lied that President Emmerson Mnangagwa set up a Truth and Reconciliation Commission to deal with past human rights abuses. Mnangagwa only set up the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission. The distinction is considered important as the later does not have a “Truth” component.

Prominent UK based Zimbabwean legal academic, Alex Magaisa tweeted today:

“He did set up a Truth and Reconciliation Commission”, said Sackur interviewing Chamisa on @BBCHARDtalk Ironic from someone who used words like silly & nonsense to Chamisa. Because in fact, Mnangagwa never set up a Truth and Reconciliation Commission. There’s no such body in Zim
