ZEC Should Charge Political Parties $100 000 To Weed Out Chancers - Busha

Businessman and the president of the Free Zimbabwe Congress (FreeZim) opposition party, Joseph Busha has called on the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to charge political parties $100 000. Busha said that this would weed out chancers as there are reports that more than 100 parties will be contesting in the 2018 harmonised elections.

Speaking to The Financial Gazette, Busha said,

The bulk of candidates dominating the electoral race, which has now seen over 100 political parties vying for the race are just nonentities who have never accomplished anything in life. In order to decongest the national elections, it will be wiser for ZEC, through necessary amendments, to charge say $100 000 as a show of seriousness.
