Harare High Court judge Justice Charles Hungwe has ordered Labour and Social Welfare Minister Petronella Kagonye to repay a $400 000 debt or risk having her property attached and auctioned off. Kagonye and three other debtors burrowed $461 842,46 from CBZ Bank in 2011 but have failed to settle the debt.
Part of Justice Hungwe’s order reads,
Whereupon after reading documents filed of record and hearing council it is ordered that defendants (Kagonye, Peter, Lilian and Midzi) pay the plaintiff (CBZ) the sum of $461 842.46, interest on the above amount at the rate of 28% per annum.
The hypothecated (pledged) immovable property being a piece of land in the district of Salisbury called stand 808 Chadcombe Township of stand 562 measuring 480 square metres….is declared executable.
