Zim To Sign $700 Million Coal Bed Methane Deal
Minister of Mines Winston Chitando has revealed that President Emmerson Mnangagwa administration’s will soon be signing a major deal for the development of coal bed methane. The deal is worth $700 million with the government aiming to build a power station with some of the revenues. Speaking to Bloomberg, Chitando declined to reveal the identity of the investor.
Said Chitando,
The coal-bed methane projects will be for power and other related products and by-products. [Output will be]…channeled towards the establishment of a power plant.
