Smoking, Growing Mbanje Remains A Criminal Offence

In a statement Health Minister David Parirenyatwa said it is still a criminal offence to smoke mbanje for recreational purposes.

He also said growing mbanje without approval from Government is still a criminal offence. Said Parirenyatwa:

Possession of cannabis other than for medicinal or scientific purposes is still therefore still illegal in Zimbabwe. For emphasis, licensing is still imperative for medicinal or industrial cannabis use.

Parirenyatwa said the type of cannabis Government is legalising is called sativa sativa which is less narcotic.
