Elections Now Controlled By Soldiers, Executive Decisions Being Made At KG VI Barracks: NPF Claims

Jealousy Mawarire the spokesperson for the Robert Mugabe endorsed National Patriotic Front (NPF) has claimed that the military is now in full control of everything including the upcoming 2018 harmonised elections. He also claimed that the actual number of soldiers deployed in rural areas stands at 5 000. Speaking at an inter-district meeting in Bulawayo Mawarire said,

Going for elections, we must be prepared for any eventualities and that is what we are doing. We are, however, worried about the deployment of soldiers in various wards of the country. Earlier on, it was said that about 2 000 soldiers had been deployed in various wards in the country, but we have done our own investigations and established that about 5 000 soldiers are deployed in various wards in the country.

It’s given that elections are now controlled by soldiers even the adviser to President Emmerson Mnangagwa is on record having said that the decisions are now made at KGIV. Really when you deploy army to conduct elections, I do not think you do that for elections to be peaceful, but to intimidate and coerce people, and once you force people there is no peace.
