Former Minister of Tourism, Edgar Mbwembwe is reported to have been removed from the list of candidates who will be contesting in the Zanu-PF primary elections scheduled for this Sunday. Mbwembwe who is the incumbent legislator for Chikomba East discovered that his name was missing despite being initially approved by the Zanu-PF Politburo.
Zanu PF Mashonaland East provincial chairperson, Joel Biggie Matiza who read out all the names at a provincial meeting said,

This is where we are. The names I read out are those we were given by the higher organ. At provincial level, there is nothing we are going to do. Those with queries should take them to third floor (Harare). Our duty was to collect the CVs and we took them to the headquarters. In short, we are not entertaining complaints.
Other incumbent legislators whose names were also missing include, Richard Mavhunga (Marondera West ), Petronella Musarurwa (Murewa West) and Noah Mangondo (Murewa South).
