The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) has taken former Zanu-PF member and Zimbabwe People First (ZPF) founding member Didymus Mutasa to court over an unpaid $69 000 electricity bill. ZETDC is claiming $69 043 plus interest and an order for costs.
This comes barely a week after the High Court allowed the Sheriff to auction his property to recover legal fees he owes to a law firm that represented him when he challenged his dismissal from Zanu-PF. ZETDC argue Mutasa entered a contract with them for the supply of electricity at his Headlands farm. He also had six other accounts with ZETDC. Mutasa defaulted, resulting in Zesa instituting legal proceedings.
