The Zimbabwe Nurses Association (ZiNA) announced that the striking nurses will be holding Open Air Clinics at Africa Unity Square in Harare and City Hall in Bulawayo from 12 noon.
The nurse urge citizens to come wearing white as a show of solidarity with the nurses who are on strike. The announcement by ZiNA reads:
ZINA is announcing that striking nurses will hold an Open Air Clinic at Africa UnitySquare in Harare and City Hall in Bulawityo at 12:00 noun on 20th April 2018. The Nurses will come in their uniforms and will provide whatever medical services we are able to provide with limited equipment. including: –
-Consultation
– Counselling
-Vital observation
-Taking pulse
-Health education
As nurses. we are ready and able to provide care to Zimbabweans but we cannot continue to work under the current conditions that have been forced upon us by government. ZINA calls on all citizens to come and receive medical attention and to stand in solidarity with the Nurses at Africa Unity Square. Please come dressed in white to show solidarity for our health care professionals as they appeal to the government for safe and adequate working conditions and fair wages.
