Chamisa Blames Zanu-PF For Assaulting Khupe At Tsvangirai Funeral

Speaking during an interview hosted by Audrey Chimwanda on ANN7, MDC-T leader and MDC Alliance presidential candidate Nelson Chamisa blamed Zanu-PF for the assault on Thokozani Khupe during the burial of the founding leader of the MDC-T, Morgan Tsvangirai in Buhera.

Chamisa said the MDC-T’s security and intelligence department found that Zanu-PF planted provocateurs to cause violence at Tsvangirai’s burial. Said Chamisa:

We have done everything within our power. We lodged a commission of inquiry which brought startling revelations that the violence we saw at President Tsvangirai’s funeral was actually violence coming from our colleagues in Zanu-PF who planted agent provocateurs to try and embarrass certain of our leaders. Its something we have taken up with the police and its something we have not taken lightly even within the party. Those people whom we have found to be associated even as they were being mobilised by those provocateurs are certainly going to be dealt with. In fact we have already began the process.
