Over 3 000 Youth officers, informally called Green Bombers, who were to be retrenched by the government have been reinstated on the civil service payroll. Presenting the 2018 National budget in December last year, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Patrick Chinamasa announced that 3 188 youth officers were going to be retrenched in order to save the treasury US$19.3 million dollars per year. However, after court action by the youth officers, they have been reinstated.
A letter written by the Civil Services Employees Association to the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Arts and Recreation reads:
Reference is made to our meeting of 5 April 2018with the secretary and to our subsequent meeting with the Honourable of Youth, Sports, Arts and Reaction at your offices.
We confirm that further to the above meetings, we have agreed to enter into a consent withdrawal of the court case LC/H/REV20/18. By copy of this letter we also instruct our lawyers to work with yours to come up with the Consent Order for withdrawal of the court case. This is based on the agreed position that all 3188 Youth Officers are reinstated on the pay sheet with effect 1 April 2018.
We told you nothing can change with these guys brain washing people can’t do without them they need them most for election
