Former Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Commissioner-General Augustine Chihuri and his former mistress Sithulisiwe Mthimkhulu agreed for an out of court settlement to a $240 000 maintenance issue. The two are scheduled to report back to the court on May 14.
Bulawayo magistrate Miss Sharon Rosemani made the hearing private after Chihuri’s lawyer Arthur Marara of Mutamangira and Associates petitioned her asking for the matter to be made private as it was attracting “unnecessary” attention to his client. Mthimkhulu’s lawyer Mr Godfrey Nyoni of Moyo and Nyoni Associates agreed that the matter should be confidential as it could also damage the reputation of his client, who is a senior police officer. As a result third parties were asked to vacate the court room.
