Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries founding leader Walter Magaya yesterday approached the High Court challenging the State’s decision to continue with his prosecution after the alleged rape victim’s confession that she falsely accused him of rape. The alleged rape victim Petronellah Donhodzo Mandaza, has since sued Prosecutor-General Ray Goba at the same court contesting the State’s decision to summon her to be a witness.
In his constitutional application Magaya wants the court to acquit him on the grounds of the confession made by Mandaza under oath. He argues it is unconstitutional for the State to continue with his trial under the circumstances. He also highlights that Mandaza did not confess under oath that she was raped and made to terminate her pregnancy as alleged by the State.
