Zimbabwe Cricket Board Must Go: Temba Mliswa Adds Voice

Independent legislator for Norton, Temba Mliswa, has added his voice to those calling for members of the board of Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) to be fired. The board has come under fire for not accepting any responsibility for Zimbabwe’s failure to qualify for the 2019 World Cup despite hosting the Worlld Cup Qualifiers at home. The board instead resolved to fire coach Heath Streak and his entire coaching staff.

Writing on Twitter, Mliswa said,

Press conference: 06/04/18 11:30hrs, Media Centre, Bothwell Hse. Where I will speak on 1. Remarks following
i. Recent dismissal of Streak&Taibu,
ii. Zim’s failure to qualify for cricket WC & 2. Going all out to restore pride in our national team; current ZC Board must go!

That’s tomorrow, Friday 6th April 2018 at the Media Centre, 2nd Floor Bothwell House, 66 Jason Moyo Avenue, corner First St/Jason Moyo Ave, Harare (next to Barbours) at 11:30hrs… see you there! “Going all Out to Restore Pride in Our National Cricket Team!

I totally agree with Coltart’s sentiments regarding Zimbabwe Cricket. The current Board is inexperienced and have brought the game to its knees through selfish interests.

He sentiments echo those of former Minister of Sport, David Coltart who wrote a long editorial outlining reasons why the ZC board should be fired instead of the coaching staff.
