Gold Miners To Sue Grace Mugabe Over Mazowe Farm, Say She Used Political Power To Grab Their Land

A group of gold miners led by Shepard Nyazvigo have threatened to sue former first lady Grace Mugabe for calling them “invaders” and “illegal gold panners” after they allegedly invaded her Smithfield Farm in Mazowe. The miners argue that they are the rightful owners of the land in question.

Speaking to NewsDay, Nyazvingo said,

We have instructed our lawyers to file for a lawsuit. She can’t claim that we are invaders, illegal occupants when we were the first people to be allocated the property and she know this, but was abusing the political muscle that she had.

Grace Mugabe also claimed that the miners had stolen 31 laptops although this claim was refuted by Minister of Home Affairs, Obert Mpofu, who called Grace a liar.
