MDC-T leader and presidential candidate for the coalition MDC Alliance, Nelson Chamisa, has taken a sly dig at his opponent, President Emmerson Mnangagwa. In an Easter message, Chamisa said that politicians should never use religious gatherings to hold political rallies and score cheap political points. This comes a few days after President Emmerson Mnangagwa addressed thousands of congregants of the Zion Christian Church in Bikita, where he claimed that it is God’s plan for him to be President.
Writing on microblogging site Twitter, Chamisa said,
had a wonderful and prayerful Easter weekend. The blood of Jesus shall never lose its power. Jesus Christ is Lord and Saviour. For me, worship gatherings must never be reduced to being rallies for politics and point-scoring.
