In an interview with The Chronicle, Zapu leader Dumiso Dabengwa said former President Robert Mugabe should have come out and told the truth about Gukurahundi during his interviews he had last week.
Dabengwa said Mugabe should have apologised rather than to just call the Gukurahundi massacres a moment of madness. Said Dabengwa:
I think he should be coming out and telling the truth. He should have apologised about it instead of calling it a moment of madness. What madness? Is he still mad up to this day? Other people apologised. Cde Zvobgo (late Eddison) made an apology as he was involved in the planning of the operation.
