Speaking during a meeting in Gwanda last week, Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans’ Association secretary general, Victor Matemadanda backed MDC-T vice president Thokozani Khupe and accused the party’s presidential candidate Nelson Chamisa of being undemocratic.
Matemadanda who is also Zanu-PF secretary for war veterans said Khupe should be the one to succeed the late Morgan Tsvangirai as MDC-T president. Said Matemadanda:
Everyone can see that constitutionally Khupe is the rightful candidate. A brave woman Khupe who went to bury Tsvangirai (late Morgan) in Buhera and what do they say, they call her a dissident. If we don’t defend this kind of person then we are not principled. They will sing about democracy. How democratic is Chamisa who was hand-picked?

I love it to see that ZanuPf are scared to the bone by our MDC Alliance president Chamisa. They are trying to play cheap politics of divide and rule. They know Khupe won’t be any threat to ED and so they pretend to like here instead of Chamisa. Rwendo rwuno hamulume makatoirasa. Vanhu vepi vasina hama nereal change and development. Chamisa chete chete come election day.
I smell tribalism here
You idiots hwindi/malayitsha dont realise what Matemadanda is doing—khupe is not a threat to ZANU but she is a definite threat to MDC and Matemadanda was just making sure that threat remains a real and present danger—you have already lost Mat-land and with it, the elections!
