"Mugabes Deserve To Be Harassed For Violating Zimbabweans' Rights": War Veterans

Speaking at a belated celebration for his elevation organised by the Gokwe Development Trust, Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans’ Association’s (ZNLWVA) secretary general Victor Matemadanda said Robert and Grace Mugabe deserve to be harassed for violating the rights of Zimbabweans.

Matemadanda spoke on reports that Mugabe told African Union (AU) Commission Chairman Moussa Faki Mahamat in Harare last month that his family was being harassed and that he was being denied his constitutional benefits as a former head of state. Said Matemadanda:

Mugabe is dreaming. How he can say his wife is being harassed, while she is in the comfort of her home, what about the harassment we endured at his hands? Our rights have been violated and we have been harassed, while being detained in filthy jails. Mugabe must not complain about harassment, he is only tasting his own medicine.
