"Zanu-PF Is A Strong Party": Mujuru Gives Reason For Forming Coalition

Addressing a coalition of parties meeting at a hotel in Midlands Province on Tuesday, People’s Rainbow Coalition (PRC) presidential candidate Joice Mujuru revealed why she refused to join the MDC Alliance.

She said she did not join the MDC Alliance because it would have swallowed the National People’s Party which she now leads. Mujuru also revealed why she formed a coalition with other parties stating that Zanu-PF is a strong party which needs a united opposition. Said Mujuru:

Mhandu yedu muZimbabwe imwe chete iZanu (We have only one enemy in Zimbabwe, Zanu-PF). It’s a strong party inoda vanhu vakatsunga, vanhu vakabatana (it needs determined and united people) that’s why we thought of a coalition whether you are a small party, a medium party or a big party. Under the coalition, we did not want other parties to be swallowed. This is why we came up with PRC. We want all the parties to be represented, we want all the parties to be involved in the wards and this is why we are here to come up with structures.
