SAFM reports that workers at former President Robert Mugabe’s Blue Roof residence in Harare were taken in for questioning by soldiers today. The radio station reports that former First Lady, Grace Mugabe is said to be unsure whether to remain at the house.
Mugabe left Zimbabwe for South Africa for a private visit today. The news of Mugabe’s workers being taken for questioning comes amid reports that the former Zanu-PF first secretary is behind the formation of the New Patriotic Front (NPF). NPF confirmed Mugabe met with the party’s leader Ambrose Mutinhiri who quit Zanu-PF saying that he cannot be part of a coup government.
Addressing a Zanu-PF youth League Assembly, President Emmerson Mnangagwa responded to news reports that Mugabe is behind the formation of a political party to distabilise ZANU-PF. Although he said he is not happy, Mnangagwa indicated that he will only take action against Mugabe when he gathers factual evidence.
