Zanu-PF seems to have resuscitated the “pasi” slogan it had banned after members of the party’s youth league assembly chanted “Pasi na Robert Gabriel Mugabe” chants.
This comes after reports that the former president of Zimbabwe who retired in November last year following military intervention, is behind the formation of the New Patriotic Front (NPF) which is led by Retired Brigadier General Ambrose Mutinhiri.
Speaking to Daily News, Togarepi Pupurai, the 54-year old leader of the Zanu-PF Youth League as well as a Politburo member, warned Robert Mugabe that he should be prepared to face the consequences of his new political adventure. Below is a video of a member of the Zanu-PF youth league assembly chanting an anti-Mugabe slogan during a meeting which was attended by President Emmerson Mnangagwa:
Nyerere retired & took his founding father position. Kaunda eventually took his position -seen no more drama. Mandela retired and died an icon. Though Mbeki’s hand was forced he is still revered 4 he kept an elder statesman role. We all wished it would never come to this. pic.twitter.com/khJgxOZdJ5
