The family of the late founding leader of the opposition MDC-T party, Morgan Tsvangirai, has said that the bulk of his inheritance should go to his children. According to Tsvangirai’s brother Manasa, the family does not know where Tsvangirai’s widow Elizabeth Macheka Tsvangirai was staying before his death, hinting that the two were estranged. Manasa said that Elizabeth should do the right thing as she had no children with Morgan. This follows reports that Elizabeth registered her husband’s estate at the Master of the High Court.

Speaking to the Daily News, Manasa said:
We don’t want anything but those things should go to the children and not anyone else. We know that she (Elizabeth) has no children with Tsvangirai so justice must be done. Ask her where she was staying before his death; we don’t know where she was staying, she knows where she was staying, she cannot cheat herself, you cannot lie to yourself, your conscience should tell you that you are lying or not” said Manasa, implying the couple may not have been staying together towards the end of Tsvangirai’s life.
As the family, we maintain that these things are for the kids. The children should be the beneficiaries. If she is a mother, she has an opportunity now to show us that. One thing that is clear is that those things belong to his children. The question that should now be asked: akafirwa ndiani? (Who is grieving here?) Is it the Macheka or Tsvangirai family? The tradition in our family is that when a man passes on, the children benefit and the children should then choose to share with whoever they want to.
The Tsvangirai family has been accused of alienating and ill-treating Elizabeth during the illness and subsequent burial of Tsvangirai. The former prime minister’s mother was even eavesdropped threatening to commit suicide if Elizabeth and Nelson Chamisa attended the funeral. Manasa denied that Elizabeth was ill-treated saying that she had handed over Tsvangirai to his relatives on January 9, 2018.

Tswangirai’s family should stop being greedy
Tsvangirai being a knowledgeable man should have left a will that caters for his widow, his children and other beneficiaries of his choice.
Though l would sympathise with Macheka, surely she was no longer staying with Tsvangirai may his soul rest in peace, honestly does she believe that she can make a U turn and claim for the inheritance, vanhu kana munhu afa siyayi zvinhu zvake, hama dzaTsvangirai kana muchiti zvinhu ngazvipiwe vana you are doing the right thing.If Macheka knows that she was no longer staying and caring for her husband what does she want now. If Tsvangirai died with her at their matrimonial home together regardless that she doesnt have children with him, surely she deserves also to be respected and given something to remember her late husband.
Elizabeth is the one who is being greedy because she want Tsvangirai’s children not to have any of the property that was left by their father of cause they had a wedding but she does not have any child with Morgan so who will she want to take care with that property only herself .She was a gold digger i agree with vincent.These children they have that power because their mother susan did not gain anything
