Police Summon Kadoma Youths For Marking Mnangagwa’s 100 Days In Power By Planting Banana Trees In Potholes

Police in Kadoma summoned youths for planting banana trees and grass in potholes to mark resident Emmerson Mnangagwa’s first 100 days in power. Kadoma City Council fixed the potholes after they planted the trees.

The youths were however allowed to go free without any charges being pressed against them. The Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) provided legal assistance.  The idea to plant banana trees in potholes seems to have been inspired by Ghanaian citizens, who did the same in the capital city, Accra.
