Makandiwa Wants $6,5 Million Fake Prophesies Lawsuit Dismissed

United Family International Church (UFIC) leader Emmanuel Makandiwa and his wife, Ruth, want a $6,5 million lawsuit pressed against them by former congregants Upenyu Mashangwa and his wife Blessing dismissed on the grounds that it is “frivolous” and “vexatious”.

The Mashangwas claim they lost a fortune after being misled by Makandiwa’s false prophecies. They allege that in 2012 Makandiwa misrepresented that they would encounter a “debt cancellation miracle” and encouraged them to continue “seeding”. The couple however claims that their house in Marlborough, was later attached and sold for $500 000 instead of $700 000. The couple is now demanding the $700 000 from Makandiwa. They also want Makandiwa to pay them $1,7 million for recommending a de-registered lawyer who duped them, among other claims.

While the main suit was pending, Mr Wilson Manase and Mr Wellington Pasipanodya of Manase and Manase Legal Practitioners, instructed Advocate Lewis Uriri to file an application for summary dismissal of the civil claim in terms of Order 11 Rule 75 (1) of the High Court. In his founding affidavit, Makandiwa argued that the lawsuit was an abuse of the court process and that it must be thrown out. He argued that the Mashangwas never owed ZB Bank as alleged and that the Marlborough property was never attached over a $500 000 debt but was sold to someone for $800 000 and later on, to another person.

  1. The time for these fake prophets like Makandiwa will come to an end
They made a fortune through cheating the unsuspecting quick to richness people, and very soon they will be leaving their beloved churches and running fully consolidated businesses realised from proceeds of pledges and they are already calling themselves business tycoons, shame on them.
