Arresting Chamisa Will Make Him More Popular: Mliswa

Norton legislator Temba Mliswa has commented on a Sunday Mail article that suggested MDC-T acting president Nelson Chamisa faces arrest on charges of masterminding the violence at the burial of the late party leader Morgan Tsvangirai in Buhera, saying such a move will only make him more popular, thick skinned and more determined.

Writing on the micro-blogging site Twitter yesterday, Mliswa said:

Chamisa’s arrest can’t be attributed to ED but factional fights in MDC. But they fail to realize that using incarceration for political expedience only serves to make the victim more popular, thick skinned & more determined. I know having been arrested & acquitted 70+ times.

Addressing mourners at the burial of Tsvangirai, Chamisa said he is ready for Zanu-PF’s tactics which may include arrests. Said Chamisa:

I know what they are capable of doing. Like what they did to my leader, Morgan Tsvangirai whom they beat and mistreated, but however, i am ready for it.
