The late wife of the soldier who murdered her and her 2 sisters in Bulawayo earlier this month had recently fled from her matrimonial home in Mutare accusing the husband of domestic violence. Later, the soldier traveled from his work station in Gweru and shot her and her 2 sisters with his AK 47 work rifle, killing them on the spot. The soldier also shot and injured his 18-month-old daughter.
This was heard at the court hearing of the soldier this week, held at his bedside. The soldier is still bed-ridden from a self-inflicted gunshot wound sustained in his attempt to commit suicide.
Identified as Carlos Tinashe Chapeyema, the 23-year old soldier was remanded in custody.
