MDC-T Vice President Nelson Chamisa is now the party’s de facto leader after being appointed Acting President for the next 12 months. Chamisa takes over from the veteran leader, Morgan Tsvangirai who passed on last night, after succumbing to colon cancer in South Africa. Chamisa had been involved in a power tussle with co-vice presidents Elias Mudzuri and Thokozani Khupe, with all three insisting that they were the rightful acting president in Tsvangirai’s absence.

Chamisa was appointed by the party’s national council although the two other vice presidents did not attend the meeting. Chamisa claimed that Mudzuri did not attend the meeting despite being notified while Khupe is still on her way to Harare.¬† Chamisa vowed to win the forthcoming elections for his late mentor. He also called for unity within the party in order to defeat Zanu-PF.¬† He said that he was going to urge Khupe and Mudzuri to continue the fight.

Said Chamisa

Tsvangirai’s legacy is in safe hands at all party levels. We will communicate everything to respect the family’s wishes

We are in a leadership crisis and the deliberations being made are eliminating all the noise. So we had to step in quickly to deal with the leadership crisis.

Vice-president Elias Mudzuri was aware of this meeting and am not sure why he is not in here, and Madam Khupe is making her way to Harare from Bulawayo

I will tell Mudzuri and Khupe to join forces. I know there are frailties ahead. It’s no longer about party positions. We cannot all lead the party at one point. Tsvangirai’s shoes are too big. We should gift him an election victor

This is a developing story and will be updated as more details become available.

Chamisa the rightful successor and candidate for 2018 elections .All what is needed for him now is to be wise on comminucation that he should not always make public comments on petty issues for this will degrade his personality as a presidentRemember a chicken makes noise but lays one egg a day but a cow remain silent while feeding the whole village with milk.More over the cio takes advantage of an opponents to make decisions and manipulate his speaches for accusations. Finally if a real leader speaks people listern because the leader must deliver a carefully digested and constructive meaningful speach which cause even the enemies to receive with a big nod.
