Godson Zondo,36, of Bulawayo appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Lungile Ncube facing a murder charge. Zondo allegedly fatally assaulted his maid Khethiwe Zimba on Sunday after learning that she was on Antiretroviral Therapy. Zondo, whose wife works outside Bulawayo was having an affair with Khethiwe, and she is reported not to have disclosed that she was on Antiretroviral Therapy. Magistrate Ncube did not grant Zondo bail and instead advised him to apply for bail at the High Court instead. He was remanded to the 16th of February.
State prosecutor, Petros Shoko said:
The accused discovered that Zimba was taking some Antiretroviral Therapy tablets and she had not told him. Zondo was angered by this discovery and he took a wooden plank which he used to assault Zimba several times all over her body.

The maid was devilish but the man if he was unlucky and contracted the virus the effects were going to be minimal if he was out of jail.
