Zanu-PF National Secretary for War Veterans, War Collaborators, ex-Detainees and Restrictees Victor Matemadanda has showered First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa with praise for stepping down as Chirumanzu-Zibagwe legislator.
In an interview on Saturday, Matemadanda said war veterans welcome Mnangagwa’s announcement as it gives her more time to deal with national issues. Said Matemadanda:
Amai Mnangagwa has just shown that she is a person of high moral, integrity and respect by relinquishing her seat to focus on several other issues as the First Lady. That is the problem we had with former First Lady (Grace Mugabe) who infiltrated the party, wanted to get a parliamentary seat what for? Amai Mnangagwa has led the way and as war veterans we welcome the move. We were once fired from the party together with honourable (Chris) Mutsvangwa and Mahiya (Douglas) for trying to tell the former First Lady (Grace Mugabe) to leave politics. Today we have a First Lady who led by example. As war veterans we have pledged our support to Cde Mnangagwa who have already shown his capability to take Zimbabwe to the Promised Land.
