Husbands/Wives Should Not Interfere In Govt Business Says Christopher Mutsvangwa

Speaking at Makwe Secondary School in Gwanda last Friday, Special Advisor to the President Christopher Mutsvangwa said Government officials and politicians’ wives or husbands should not interfere with Government business.

He said that former first lady Grace Mugabe had seized power with a group of close allies. Said Mutsvangwa:

You elect people to rule you, so only those you elected should rule you. People’s wives or husbands who are not elected have no business in ruling you; that is why you demonstrated saying you want change. As citizens, you joined the army by having very big demonstrations in Harare and other provinces to say enough is enough of the former President who had ruled for too long. His wife decided to seize power and exercise constitutional powers which were not hers with her friends Jonathan Moyo, Kasukuwere and Mphoko.
