Mugabe Apologises To Mujuru, Blames Chiwenga, Mnangagwa For Misleading Him

Former president Robert Mugabe is reported to have apologised to his former deputy Joice Mujuru for firing her from the party and government in 2014. According to Joice Mujuru’s spokesperson, Gift Nyandaro, Mugabe invited Mujuru to his “Blue Roof” residence in Borrowdale Brooke on Tuesday. At the meeting Mugabe is reported to have admitted that he was misled by President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his deputy, Vice President General (Retired) Constantino Chiwenga in order to isolate and weaken him.

They met and it was at Mugabe’s invitation. One of the reasons was to say sorry for everything that happened to you.

I was misinformed and I decided to call you so that I can say I’m sorry, my daughter, we were misled. I have come to know that all the people who were fighting you are Mnangagwa and Chiwenga. It was a grand plan to get to me and not yourself.

Mujuru is reported to have forgiven Mugabe. The former president and his wife Grace Mugabe made numerous allegations against Mujuru, with the more lurid ones being that she wanted to kill Mugabe using witchcraft and contract killers. Nyandoro said that Mujuru said:

Baba (father), I told you that I had nothing against you. All these people were fighting me simply because they wanted to expose you and get rid of you.

Speaking To Voice of America, Mujuru said:

He called me and I obliged.  He was telling me what happened was wrong, he was misinformed.

Its people who are after Mugabe who you know are doing all these things. And it has, I’ve, I’ve have been vindicated by what I said to him. I forgave him a long time ago, including the, the wife.

They (Mugabe, his wife Grace) were tricked, and mind you the same people who are now in control are the very same people who went and tricked Mugabe.

So, they knew what they wanted to do – they wanted me out of the way first, so that they will be able to get to Mugabe easily.
