Morgan Tsvangirai Alive But Health Worsens

Former prime minister and leader of the MDC-T Morgan Tsvangirai’s health is reported to have deteriorated. Contrary to some rumours, Tsvangirai is alive and being treated for colon cancer, although his health is reported to be worsening. Doctors treating the veteran opposition leader are reported to have summoned Tsvangirai’s relatives to South Africa to update them on his condition.

A source who spoke to NewsDay said:

The president is alive, but his health has deteriorated from the time he left the country.

He is not feeling well and everyone is worried about his health. I saw social media messages saying he is dead, that is not correct, he is still alive.

The source said that Tsvangirai will meet a local prophet in Germany. The prophet is reported to have prophesied that Tsvangirai will shock Mnangagwa and win this year’s election.

In a final bid to turn his health fortunes, Tsvangirai is set to fly out of South Africa anytime soon for healing in Germany, where he is reportedly set to meet a prophet.
Elizabeth has since organised and received visas for the three-day trip for an undisclosed party delegation travelling with Tsvangirai to Germany and they have been granted their visas. The prophet in question is said to have prophesied that Tsvangirai is going to win the 2018 polls, beating Mnangagwa in a shocking outcome.

Before leaving for treatment in South Africa, Tsvangirai hinted at stepping down as leader of the opposition party to make way for the younger generation.  However, this seems to have disorganised the opposition as different leaders battle to succeed him.  All three vice presidents of the party, Nelson Chamisa, Thokozani Khupe and Elias Mudzuri are interested in taking over from Tsvangirai.    Tsvangirai’s absence has also seemingly disrupted the coalition MDC Alliance as members of the MDC who are opposed to the alliance seem to be getting bolder.
