Khupe And Moyo Face Expulsion From MDC-T, Given Ultimatum
MDC-T sources told The Herald that the party’s Vice President Thokozani Khupe and national chairperson Mr Lovemore Moyo face expulsion after the Standing Committee gave them an ultimatum to attend its next meeting.
The objective of the high-level meeting this week on Wednesday was to review the state of the party ahead of pending general elections later this year. Sources said people took turns to berate Khupe and Moyo for not attending meetings. It was eventually resolved that decisive action should be taken against the two as there is provision to do so in the party’s constitution.
Contacted for comment, MDC-T spokesperson Mr Obert Gutu said Moyo and Khupe had submitted their apologies as they had other engagements and could not attend the meeting chaired by the part’s acting president Elias Mudzuri.
