A Sick And Ailing Tsvangirai Will Defeat A Fit Mnangagwa Any Day In A Free And Fair Contest – Sikhala

Opposition politician and MDC national executive member Job Sikhala, has said that he believes that MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai, despite being ill, will defeat President Emmerson Mnangagwa in an election as long as it is free and fair. Sikhala also said that Tsvangirai was the best hope for the opposition as all his deputies, Nelson Chamisa, Elias Mudzuri and Thokozani Khupe do not have the same brand recognition as the veteran opposition leader. Tsvangirai who is battling colon cancer and has appeared visibly ill has hinted at retiring in the near future.

Speaking to the Daily News, Sikhala said.

Tsvangirai can still blow Ngwena (Mnangagwa’s nickname) out of the water even in his current state of health.

All things equal, a sick and ailing Tsvangirai, … will defeat a fit Mnangagwa any day in a free and fair contest. In Zambia, a sick and ailing Sata defeated a fit Rupiah Banda when no-one gave him a snowball’s chance in hell.

I still believe an ailing Morgan Tsvangirai is a better brand than all ambitious people in the MDC put together, so the only solution lies in us praying that he recovers and that God gives him better health.

On the other hand opposition politician, Elton Mangoma has called for sick candidates to be banned from running for president.
